Each event has a Form associated with it. The Form is what the drivers/handlers fill out to provide their update.

You have full control over what fields appear on a form for the driver to fill out, whether or not a field is required, and whether or not these fields should be visible to the customer in their Tracking Detail view.

Here’s an example of a basic form on the Driver App:

Driver App form showing Driver name, Internal Notes toggle, and External Customer Notes fields.

The following fields are available for your selection by default on all accounts:

Field name Field type Field purpose
Driver Name Text input Captures driver’s name providing the update; use this field to personalize alert templates so the owner knows who has their animal.
Pet Ate Yes/No Capture whether or not an animal ate prior to the update provided; use this field to report it to the owner or use it only for internal purposes.
Pet Drank Yes/No Capture whether or not an animal drank prior to the update provided; use this field to report it to the owner or use it only for internal purposes.
Pet Relieved Yes/No Capture whether or not an animal relieved itself prior to the update provided; use this field to report it to the owner or use it only for internal purposes.
Photo/Video File upload Attach or take photos of the animal, it’s kennel/container, tender documents, etc.
External Customer Notes Multi-line text input Allow driver/handler to provide a comment to share with the owner. E.g. “Fluffy is doing great and is quite happy!”
Internal Notes*** Multi-line text input Allow driver/handler to include any notes that should be kept internal to the organization. E.g. “The kennel size had to be changed at tender.” ***This field has an on/off toggle to help ensure the driver doesn’t confused it with the External Customer Notes field
Next Stop Text input Allow driver to say where they are headed next with the animal. This field is typically used on a form for a “Pick up” or “Collection” type of event. E.g.: Pass this field into an alert template to say “Your animal’s driver is headed to {next stop}.”
TSA Compliance Docs*** File upload Allow driver to submit TSA compliance docs for STA purposes at tender. ***Only applicable to US-based customers.

You can add custom fields to add to Forms as well. When you create a custom field while editing/adding a Form, you’ll see this new custom field as an option on all Forms.

What is the “Tracking Detail view”? And what does the “Visible to Customer” option mean when setting up a Form?

Untitled design (24).png

Tracking Detail view is the page that is linked on all email & SMS alerts that go out to the customer. This is their way to open up the feed of all updates that have been submitted, in chronological order, and see things like the update timestamp, what the update was, and the geolocation of the update (displayed on a map).

When you select “Visible to Customer” on a field when setting up a form, it will show on the update visible in the Tracking Detail view.
